SUCCESS: The Owtons team celebrating a previous win
A SOUTHAMPTON butcher has been crowned champion of the barbecue.
Owtons Traditional Family Butchers in Southampton received gold awards in all six categories at the southern regional finals of the Butchers Q Guild annual barbecue competition.
The West End shop went head to head with dozens of other butchers from across the south to scoop top prizes for its pork sausage, steak, beef burger, special buffalo with caramelised onion burger, oriental duck sausage and Mississippi smoked poussin.
The butchers are now preparing to compete in the national finals in Oxford on April 29.
