NEW parents are being given the chance to attend a training seminar to help with newborn safety.

Chantal Lockey will be hosting a range of seminars in Hampshire providing guidance on preventative measures of cot death to new parents and childcare providers.

Ms Lockey said: “A large proportion of the deaths from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome could be avoided each year in the UK. We really want to educate parents, parents-to-be and childcare professionals.”

The seminar is due to take place on Saturday, May 24 in Southampton and Saturday, September 13 in Winchester and a certificate will be provided on the day.

Details of venues will be announced closer to the date. For more information visit the website chantallockey.org.

There are training groups like this already available along with baby CPR and other basic first aid, your GP or midwife should have details about all these courses.
