It is the spectacular vision of how your dream wedding can become a magnificent reality.

Stunning saris, Bollywood dancers and fire jugglers are among the exotic displays at Southampton’s first ever Asian Wedding Show.

The south’s leading wedding suppliers, caterers and entertainers are teaming up for the premier event at the Grand Harbour Hotel on May 7.

The Southampton Showcase, open to people of all backgrounds, is also the chance to meet the luxury hotel’s wedding co-ordinators.

It is being organised by a team consisting of Angel Cakes Hampshire, Mrs Bouquet Weddings, premier Asian caterer Sanjha Catering and Hampshire Chocolate Fountains.

Its centre-piece will be a sari catwalk show with a packed schedule of top Asian entertainment including Dholi Drummers, decorated tuk tuks, intricate ice shows and a magician.

Visitors can browse exhibitions of towering wedding cakes, delicate flower arrangements and decorations and a collection of stretch limos.

There will also be henna artists, a Lamborghini and even a white wedding horse.

The showcase team and other experts will be on hand to discuss their packages and individual services with brides and grooms wanting to organise their big day.

Jayne Morris from Angel Cakes said: “We are very excited and looking forward to the show.

“It is something that will meet the Asian community’s needs but is also open to anybody who wants something a little bit different and a more colourful day.

“Many people in Southampton’s Asian community have often had to go to London and Birmingham for ideas, but this is the chance to introduce them to people providing services in the Hampshire area.”

Entry to the event is free and doors are open from 5.30pm-8.30pm.

Goodie bags will be handed out to the first 100 brides who come through the door on the evening.
