New landslip causing rail delays on trains between Eastleigh and Fareham
A railway line that was closed briefly has now been reopened after safety experts feared there was a landslip.
Journey times were extended by up to half an hour while Network Rail investigates the problem.
It comes just a month and a half after the railway line at Botley was reopened following three landslips hitting one mile of track in February which closed the line for more than six weeks.
That landslide was described by South West Trains as “one of the worst landslips ever seen on Britain's railways.”
A South West Trains spokesman explained that the section of track that was inspected is not the same one that suffered the landslips earlier in the year.
