TWO feuding families have avoided jail for their roles in a mass brawl at a Hampshire fair.

Members of the Kempster and Keet family came to blows at the Wickham Horse Fair on May 20 last year.

All six defendants - three from one family, three from another - admitted charges in relation to the incident.

Video footage shown in Portsmouth Crown Court captured David Keet, who was holding a child, being threatened with an unloaded catapult by James Albert Kempster in front of shocked crowds.

Mr Keet fends off James Kempster, who then falls backwards.

From there, other members of both families came to blows.

The footage, which was shot by the RSPCA, shows James Kempster Senior, who had jumped off his horse and trap, running up to the incident brandishing a whip.

In another part, Ricky Keet, son of David Keet, is shown shooting a catapult into the head of Horace Kempster, 20.

Police officers are also captured attempting to split up James Kempster and David Keet.

Esta Keet, 52, the wife do David Keet, is shown using an asp to hit James Kempster.
