A SOUTHAMPTON park was awash with colour today as a major fundraiser was launched.
Hampshire hospice Naomi House is staging its first ever Rainbow Run later this year, a 3k race where runners are pelted with paint.
And to get into the spirit of things volunteers started throwing the special powdered paint early at a mock starting line in East Park, Southampton.
Even hospice deputy chief executive Mark Smith could not escape unscathed with his suit resembling a canvas when the dust settled.
Mr Smith said: "This is a huge event for us because it is in aid of the Caterpillar Appeal to refurbish Naomi House and we are sure it will be great fun for everyone."
It takes place in Southampton in September.
