A WOOBURN Fete is being organised to heighten social activity and community spirit in the area.

The Wooburn Residents Association is organising the event after a survey found people in the area want more community-led activities.

The results of a survey which went to every home in Wooburn last year found residents want more social activity and community spirit.

The Summary Plan, which will be published in June and delivered to homes in the Wooburns says that two-thirds of responders want to see more community events on Wooburn Green or in Wooburn Park.

In an attempt to capture the spirit in the area the Fete has been organised for June.

Many organisations from the community will take part and there will be many areas for entertainment and games.

As well as a concert band there will also be a choir singing and a dance group will also perform.

The 1st Wooburn Scouts are arranging some traditional fun games and there will be races for the children and a tug of war contest.

The Residents Association have said they hope the whole community will come along and join in the fun.

The Fete will take place on Saturday, June 21, 2014, on Wooburn Green, between 12pm and 4pm.
