A SOUTHAMPTON man grew cannabis in a tent in his bedroom which he principally sold to friends and associates to help fund his long-standing addiction for cocaine.
Kevin Culpin, 47, was arrested after police stopped his car and immediately smelled cannabis. After handing over a large bag of skunk cannabis, he was also found with two mobile phones as well as £320 in cash.
Prosecutor Siobhan Linsley told the city crown court officers discovered “a cannabis production unit” and nine second harvest cannabis plants with a potential yield of £1,250 in his bedroom They also found a deal list with 17 names, indicating he had pocketed £5,380 from cannabis selling with in excess of £20,000 owed to him. They also seized about £1,000 worth of cocaine.
Culpin, 47, of Three Oaks, Southampton, was jailed for 28 months. He admitted possessing cannabis with intent to supply, producing cannabis, and possessing cocaine.
