A NEW Forest pub has reopened after more than a year since the last pint was pulled.

The Thornhill family have been brought in to run the newly refurbished Rockingham Arms in West Wellow.

Former police officer Mark Thornhill, his wife Penny and the couple’s daughter Amelia have employed 12 staff to help them with the running of the pub.

Looking forward to the challenge, 47-year-old Mark, who previously ran the Cricketers at Hartley Wintney, said: “I’ve been in the pub trade for five years and food and beverage for some time longer, having returned from the United States of America running my own restaurants with my family in Florida.

"We’ve worked together well as a family and pubs gave us the opportunity to continue as a collective.”
