TRIBUTES have been paid to a much-loved teenager who was found dead at her family home.

Brittany Missen was discovered in the early hours of yesterday at her house in Bursledon.

Hampshire police told the Daily Echo how officers were called to an address in Portsmouth Road following a report of a death.

Last night a force spokeswoman confirmed that the 19- year-old’s family were aware and that there were no suspicious circumstances.

Brittany worked as a supervisor at a B&Q store in Hedge End – having held a job with the company for the past four years.

Last night bosses said they had heard the sad news about her death and many of her friends and colleagues were trying to come to terms with the shock news.

Yesterday tributes began to pour in for Brittany via social networking sites as the news filtered through to her many friends.

Her mum Jaqui took to Facebook and wrote: “Words cannot convey how we feel at this time, thank you for your messages.

“Brittany was a special daughter in all ways and will be missed more than I can ever say, it’s like a nightmare that I just want to wake up from. Love you Britts.”

Last night her family were too upset to speak as relatives and friends gathered to support and comfort them.

Tributes were also being posted on Twitter. One came from Sam Martin which read: “Such a sad day, RIP Brittany Missen, so sad that you’re no longer with us. Loved working with you and getting to know you.”

Another read: “So shocked, gone way too soon.”

Former colleagues also paid tribute to Brittany describing her as a lovely person to work with.

Hampshire police said a file was being prepared for the coroner and an inquest is expected to be opened and adjourned in coming days.
