Scores of people from across the south gathered in Southampton for one of the most important events in the Hindu calendar.
The Vedic Society Hindu Temple in Radcliffe Road was the setting for the two-day Navchandi Yagna festival, which attracted worshippers from as far afield as London.
The event, which ended with a banquet, celebrates the Goddess Durga, which means “the inaccessible” or “the invincible”.
Between 150 and 200 people attended the celebration.
