TURNER Sims celebrate their 40th Anniversary in the upcoming 2014/15 season.

Renowned as one of the finest music venues in the country, the venue has presented world-class music spanning classical, jazz, world and folk over the past four decades.

A series of special events will be held throughout the anniversary season with .

The opening night, September 25, features a recital by John Lill that also launches the 2014/15 Piano Series, which includes visits from Radu Lupu, Federico Colli and Yundi.

Pianist Paul Lewis returns to give his first Turner Sims concerto performance with the Britten Sinfonia as part of a Gala Concert on November 19.

The chamber and recital series includes Takács, Elias and Borodin Quartets, Nicola Benedetti, the Vienna Piano Trio and Emma Johnson.

The Jazz@Turner Sims series kicks off on October 4 with the Neil Cowley Trio and also features performances from Darius Brubeck, Bill Laurance, Tim Garland and a rare outing for big band Troyk-estra.

PianoForty, a year long celebration of the keyboard, launches with an exhibition by prominent photographer Amy Zielinksi with a focus on pianists who have appeared at Turner Sims.

PianoForty also includes a special screening of director Phil Grabsky’s new film In Search of Chopin.

Turner Sims Concert Hall Manager Kevin Appleby told Your Entertainment: “I’m delighted to bring together such a strong line-up of artists to celebrate this landmark year. The programme is a mixture of the familiar and the new, with opportunities for audiences to enjoy and take part in some wonderful music making, which has been the hallmark of the venue for the past four decades.”
