SOUTHAMPTON singing hopeful Eva Iglesias has failed to make it through to the final of Britain’s Got Talent.

The 40-year-old, from Sholing, impressed the judges with her rendition And I’m Telling You but didn’t win enough votes from viewers.

Tonight three of the judges gave her a standing ovation after her performance on the hit ITV show.

David Walliams said: “You were a force of nature and we believed every word of that song.

“It really blew the roof off.”

Amanda Holden told her she could hear her singing the music to James Bond films and had a “really great voice for anthems”.

But Simon Cowell, the only judge to remain in his seat, said the arrangement in the first half of the song was “old fashioned” but she improved towards the end of the set.

The Tesco employee stormed through to the semi-finals after wowing the judges during her auditions, despite battling with her emotions having just broken up with her girlfriend.

Her family flew in from her native Spain to cheer her on.

Southampton still has a chance of Britain’s Got Talent glory when dancer Kai Widdrington takes to the stage in the Latin dance troupe Kings & Queens on Saturday.
