THREE former soap favourites star in the National Theatre’s hilarious comedy One Man, Two Guvnors, which opens at the Mayflower next week.

Hampshire born Emma Barton, who made a surprise return to Albert Square this week, appears as Dolly alongside Barry Evans actor, Shaun Williamson, and Jasmyn Banks, who recently exited EastEnders as Alice Branning, as father and daughter, Charlie and Alice Clench.

Gavin Spokes takes the central role of loveable chancer, Francis Henshall, who, fired from his skiffle band, becomes minder to Roscoe Crabbe.

But Roscoe is really Rachel, posing as her own dead brother – who’s been killed by her boyfriend, Stanley Stubbers.

Francis spots the chance of an extra meal ticket and takes a job with one Stanley Stubbers – but to prevent discovery, he must keep his two guvnors apart.

Full of glittering one-liners, Nicholas Hytner’s acclaimed production is based on Richard Bean’s version of Carlo Goldoni’s classic Italian comedy, The Servant of Two Masters and features music by a live skiffle band.

Director, Hytner, told Your Entertainment: “Right from the first draft it felt like it would work brilliantly. The first reading was quite sketchy, but lots of ideas from the very first reading ended up in the play.

“Even though the production was originally created around James Corden, there have now been several brilliant casts who have made the play their own – and I can’t wait to see Gavin Spokes and the new touring company.”
