A HAMPSHIRE community is rallying together to help a man struck down by a devastating illness.

Residents of Stockbridge are hosting a charity shoot next month to raise money for the Alex Lewis Fund, with television presenter Dickie Davis handing out the prizes.

As reported by the Daily Echo, Mr Lewis lost three limbs due to a Streptococcus A bacterial infection and the Echo is backing the family’s Do It For Alex campaign.

The 34-year-old ran the Kings Arms pub in Lockerley, near Romsey, with his partner Lucy Townsend, who also runs The Greyhound on the Test pub in Stockbridge.

The fundraising event takes place on June 28 at The Greyhound pub’s grounds and entry is open on the day from 9am to 12.30pm.
