FIREFIGHTERS rescued a horse which had trapped its leg in a chain.
The animal had been tethered to a tree in Satchell Lane, Hamble by the chain.
But the cob stallion become distressed after it became tangled up in the chain and trapped its leg.
Police and firefighters were called to the scene shortly after 10am, and the fire service's animal rescue unit freed it after a vet had sedated the horse.
The animal was left in a good condition, and the RSPCA have started an investigation after police located the owner.
