STUDENTS slept rough in aid of a women’s charity.

Members of Southampton University Femsoc bedded down for the night outside University Redbrick in just sleeping bags in cardboard boxes.

They withstood temperatures of just 4C on one of the coldest nights this spring.

The event raised £1,005 for Women’s Aid Southampton, providing help for women and children suffering domestic abuse.

The group raised another £237.27 at their Empower Each Other discussion panel during International Women’s Week.
