SIX hundred exhibitors are set to flock to the Seaworks marine exhibition in Southampton this month.

Seawork will return to the city for the 17th time and feature more than 7,000 marine professionals from 18 countries.

Held in the city’s port, it will take place in the Canary Islands Fruit Terminal, off Herbert Walker Avenue, on June 10 to 12.

Marine firms from Hampshire and the UK, as well as Europe, the USA, China and Australia, will exhibit their wares throughout the exhibition.

Firms producing everything from fenders and hydraulic valves to boat-specific ovens and trailers will be at the event.

There will also be more than 60 vessels afloat on 250 metres of pontoons outside the exhibition halls.

Seawork 2014 will also feature a number of talks and conferences which are free to attend.

Subjects include the use of glycerine as fuel, the offshore wind farm industry and the Ministry of Defence’s Boat Procurement Programme.

Demonstrations will be held in the exhibition halls, including Cygnus Instruments’ new dive tank and a new engine using glycerine.

There will also be the Seaworks Innovations Showcase and Awards, which will see some of the most innovative and impressive new products win awards.

Brian Pilcher, one of the event’s organisers, said: “The event has really gone international – we’ve got exhibitors from China, the US, Canada and all over Europe.

“We’ve also got well over 100 companies from across the south and a number of those are known for their excellence in the marine leisure market.”
