A CAR has burst into flames on a busy Hampshire motorway, causing chaos for rush hour commuters.

The blaze  caused all three lanes of the M27 eastbound to be closed between junctions three and four, although they have since reopened.

Three vehicles - a black Vauxhall Corsa, a white Ford Transit and a red Nissan X-Trail - were involved in an accident.

The Corsa then caught fire.

Police say no-one was injured in the incident.

Meanwhile, long tailbacks  also built up on the M27 westbound after an accident one mile east of junction five.

A Mini Cooper and Ford C Max collided. Police say there were no injuries.
