INVESTIGATIONS are on-going after a young girl was left with serious injuries when she was hit by a car.
The 11-year-old girl, from the Southampton area, was airlifted to Southampton General Hospital by the Hampshire and Isle of Wight air ambulance on Sunday morning following the incident in Botley Road, Sholing.
The girl was involved in a collision with a blue Mitsubishi Space Star outside Valentine Primary School at about 11am.
Hampshire Constabulary confirmed that the girl suffered a suspected broken leg and shoulder.
No action has been taken against the driver so far as police continue their investigations.
