THEY are flying the flag for England – and everyone else as well.

Once again The Saints Pub has gone World Cup crazy by displaying the flags of every country participating around its frontage.

Landlord Eugene McManus did the same thing for the 2010 tournament and said it was a popular move that boosted the already excited atmosphere.

Eugene, 42, said: “We had a fantastic response from the regulars last time and it prompted some great support every England game. Fans of every nation are welcome here; we get quite a diverse range of customers anyway and this just puts us in the mood for the competition.”

He has run the pub for four years alongside Dana Rosice, 41, taking it on not long after it was threatened with closure.

And with a name like The Saints it’s no surprise that it focuses heavily on football, with more than 200 punters expected for every England game.

Eugene says he is optimistic about England’s chances and thinks that Saints star Adam Lallana can be a difference- maker.

He said: “I think England can make a run to the quarter- finals and I think Lallana can be our player of the tournament because of his attractive style and his flair.

“I think he brings a new dimension to the England team.”

The pub will be opening until 1am for late games.
