THE lid is being lifted on Sunday on cutting-edge research being pioneered on our doorstep.
Southampton Solent University has joined up with universities from across the region to produce a fascinating and fun-filled family day at Winchester Science Centre for Father’s Day.
Visitors will find a range of extra activities and expert talks on university research at the Science Futures exhibition.
Part of Universities Week, Science Futures is a collaboration between local universities that aims to lift the lid on the research being carried out in higher education. Experts from Solent will give talks and provide interactive activities.
Dr Anthony Gallagher, Solent’s marine sustainability expert and an organiser of Science Futures, said: “The idea is to provide an opportunity for the public to engage with some of the fantastic applied research that is going on within their local universities, and to give some insight into how these projects might affect their lives in the future.”
