A FIRE devastated a family home in the early hours of this morning.
The fire had started in the flat of a family who are holidaying and spread to a flat above, which was empty, according to firefighters.
Fire crews from across Southampton raced to the block of three flats in Anglesea Road at 1am this morning to put out the blaze but it destroyed the family's home.
A team of 17 firefighters battled the flames, stopping it from spreading any further.
The police were also on the scene and the road was closed until the fire was put out.
It's unclear how the blaze started, but nobody was injured in the incident.
