Police launch hunt for jewellery thief

POLICE are hunting a burglar who stole jewellery from a pensioner's home in Southampton.

The thief broke into the 67-year-old woman's house in Bindon Close, Maybush, by smashing a rear window and then took a number of items of jewellery.

Police staff investigator Alessandra Altorio, said: “I am appealing for anyone with any information about this incident to come forward. The jewellery stolen was of great sentimental value to the victim, and she has been left very shocked by what has happened.”

The incident took place between 9.30am and 7.30pm on Tuesday, June 17.
