VILLAGERS in a Hampshire community will be spilling out onto the streets to see floats roll past in their annual carnival this Saturday.

Organised by Netley Marsh Scouts and Guides and St Matthew’s Church, the carnival procession will leave the Gamekeeper Pub in Woodlands Road at 1.30pm after the judging of the floats at 1pm.

With the nostalgic theme of Times Gone By, the parade will head towards the church hall and field in Ringwood Road for the summer fair.

The Solent Dog Display team will be on show at the fair along with the Jubilee Brass Band and there will be stalls with games and prizes on offer.

The fair closes by about 5pm with the grand raffle and in the evening there will be a barn dance from 7.30pm to 10.30pm in the church hall next door.

Tickets for the dance (£4 adults, £2.50 children, including supper) are available via Scout group leader Ian Sims on 07811 964725 or Nikki Ellis on 07745 746387.

All proceeds raised will be split between the Scouts and Guide Group and St Matthew’s Church.
