THIS is the man police want to speak to after what they describe as a “one-man crimewave” across Hampshire.

British Transport Police have released a CCTV image of a man who they believe will have information about thefts and damage caused by someone who travelled between three railway stations in the county.

The appeal comes after a guitar worth £5,000 and a bike worth £150 were stolen from a train travelling between Eastleigh and Southampton.

On the same night a scooter was damaged at Hedge End station.

Detective Sergeant Sarah White said: “This thief seems to be a one-man crimewave responsible for at least three incidents and, probably, several more.

“I think it is entirely likely that the same man will have committed other crimes in the area and I am calling on anyone with information about the incidents, or who has been a victim of similar crimes, to come forward.

“I am convinced the man in the CCTV image has information about the incidents and ask that anyone who recognises him – or has information about the incidents – gets in touch.”

Anyone with information about the incidents, in the early hours of May 15, can call British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40 or Crimestop-pers on 0800 555 111.
