A WINCHESTER theatre company is celebrating after a successful first six months, and is holding auditions for its next production.

Set up by two graduates, Penny Drop Theatre has received £2,000 as part of a University of Winchester scheme, called Do It Awards, which offer funding to students or recent graduates to start their own enterprises.

The duo, 22-year-old Chelcie Peryer-Davis, and Aston Harrison, 25, have also been working with Hampshire County Council, and Sports Hampshire.

Their workshops focus on helping people overcome mental health issues, or build confidence to use in everyday life.

Now, they are holding auditions for their October production at London’s Fixers event, which works with people to promote healthy mental wellbeing.

They are on July 9 at 7pm until 9pm, at St John’s House.
