Homes plan for motorcycle showroom

First published in News

The owner of a motorcycle showroom and workshop in North Baddesley wants to replace it with three homes.

Terry Vaughan wants to redevelop the site on the corner of Botley Road with Six Oaks Road and has submitted a planning application to Test Valley Borough Council.

Bikers Ltd has been based in North Baddesley for nearly two decades and it is one of about half a dozen motorcycle dealerships left in the Southampton area.

Bikers Ltd employs seven members of staff and the company is a sales agent for Taiwanese scooters. Mr Vaughan said the move was part of his and business partner David Endean’s retirement plan.

Under the proposed redevelopment of the site, one detached three-bedroom house and two semi-detached cottages with landscaping are planned.

Another business owner giving in to the social pressures of owning property. Shame as you state in the article "it is one of about half a dozen motorcycle dealerships left in the Southampton area." there aren't many. Shame it can't be sold as a going concern.
