POLICE are hunting a thug who attacked a man in Southampton, leaving him in hospital for more than four days.

The 40-year-old was outside flats at Mead Court, in Coxford Drive, when he was attacked by a white man in his 30s.

The victim sustained serious injuries to his face and chest and is being treated in Southampton General Hospital, where his condition is described as “improving”.

Witnesses to the incident, which happened between 10.30pm and midnight on Thursday, are asked to contact PSI Marta Drozd at Shirley police station on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
