HUNDREDS of Southampton’s Hindus gathered to chant their way to good karma in the community.
More than 200 people chanted for two hours to bring peace and prosperity for all.
Laksharchana is a spiritual exercise which means “1,000 offerings”.
Worshippers gathered for the exercise at the Vedic Society Hindu Temple to chant a mantra 100,000 times.
They all spoke over an offering of rice grains to their lord, Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, and were asking for his blessings and grace to help people in Southampton.
The assistant secretary of the temple, Ravi Parmar, said: “Extremely positive comments were received from all who attended, saying that they felt very uplifted by the whole event and felt extremely peaceful.”
