A MAN was rushed to hospital after his car flipped onto its roof on a motorway.

Emergency crews were called to the incident between junction five and seven of the M27 at 7.40pm last night.

The 61-year-old had been driving alone on the eastbound carriageway when his black BMW flipped multiple times.

He was taken to Southampton General Hospital with minor injuries while his car was recovered.

No other vehicles were involved. It is unclear what made him lose control of his car.

Police, paramedics and fire crews had all left the scene by 9pm, having cleared the road.
