A man appeared in court today charged with the murder of a Southampton pensioner.
Paul Keith Humphries stood at Southampton Magistrates Court for just five minutes this morning.
Wearing a plain black jumper rolled to the elbows, the 35-year-old from Morris Road spoke only to confirm his name and that he understood the charge against him.
He is charged with the murder of 70-year-old John Willdig who was found collapsed on Morris Road Monday night.
The case was heard by magistrates Kenneth Calam-Hale, Sylvia Dibben and chief magistrate Phillippa Walther-Caine.
Humphries was remanded in custody to appear at Winchester Crown Court tomorrow morning.
