THE FAMILY of a pensioner murdered in Southampton have thanked the people who tried to save him.
John Willdig, 70, was found collapsed on the street in Morris Road in the Polygon area of Southampton on Monday night.
Mr Willdig’s sons wish to express their thanks to the members of the public and the emergency services that tried to save their dad.
As reported by the Daily Echo, neighbours rushed to his aid as he lay in the street.
A man appeared in court this morning charged with the murder of Mr Willdig.
Paul Keith Humphries, 35, has been remanded in custody and will appear before Winchester Crown Court tomorrow.
