Annual George's Trust concert takes place on Sunday
Updated 5:46pm Friday 27th June 2014 in News
THE annual George’s Trust Concert in the Park organised by the Romsey Bandstand and Entertainment Trust will take place on Sunday from 3pm in the War Memorial Park.
Ensembles from the Romsey Area Schools Concert Band, the Romsey Area Schools Jazz Band and the Romsey Area Schools Training Band will be performing throughout the afternoon.
Strawberries and cream will be available throughout the afternoon from a stall run by the trust.
This is a free event, but all donations go to George’s Trust, which aims to support teenagers and young adults in the Romsey and surrounding district by raising funds to help youth organisations and individuals and also supports the Teenage Cancer Trust Unit in Southampton General Hospital and its outreach projects.
Joe and Jane O’Brien, who live in the town, formed George’s Trust following the sudden death of their 17-year-old son George in October 2008 from a rare and aggressive form of cancer.
