HE has lost his last remaining limb and is now a quadruple amputee.

But nothing will stop Alex Lewis missing the party in his honour today.

As reported in the Daily Echo, the young dad couldn’t wait to wheel himself on stage of the fundraising music festival to thank those who have supported him since he became an amputee and lost part of his nose and lips when a common cold turned into a flesh-eating bug.

But further tragedy struck and he was dealt the devastating news medics had to amputate his remaining arm and he’d be in hospital for six weeks.

However, a man true to his word, he will tonight attend The Bridge Music Festival in Stockbridge to speak on stage as planned.

The 34-year-old has managed to persuade nurses to let him out of hospital so he can personally thank everyone.

But due to the fact Alex only underwent the operation on Thursday, he is only allowed out for just two hours because he must be connected to a machine which drains fluids from his recovering body.

His best friend and carer Chris Bagley will therefore drive him to Stockbridge Recreation Ground where he will have to be plugged into a power supply for the medical equipment to work.

The Bridge Music Festival will raise money for the Al Lewis Trust, to help his family with his rehabilitation and volunteers are even more determined to make it a night to remember.

Organiser Sheriden Sleap said: “Testament to Alex’s determination, the party will go on.

“People have been saying they want to help Alex but are unsure how. The best way they can do this is to buy a ticket and come along for the party so Alex can see how much everyone cares.”
