THE Fordingbridge Friends of Cancer Research UK held their annual tennis tournament, raising a record-breaking £1,600.
The group held the tournament with Beacon Leisure and Downton Tennis Club, and last year’s winners, Marjorie Brownsey and Amanda Sykes, retained their title, beating Wanda Dixon and Penny Relph in the final.
Following the tournament a lunch was provided by the Fordingbridge group. John Eadies, Salisbury Playhouse and the Fordingbridge and Downton branches of the Co-op contributed towards the raffle and the lunch.
Further donations for the raffle and use of the facilities came from Beacon Leisure, Downton Tennis Club, Lee Mahoney and Ian Jerrard.
