WHEN it comes to sleeping on the job Sotonians are topping the charts, a survey has revealed.
Southampton has been outed as one of the nation’s hot spots for napping at work, with 41 per cent of workers in the city admitting to falling asleep at work at least once.
New research by mattress manufacturer Memory Foam Warehouse found that 14 per cent have nodded off for between one and five minutes, while 35 per cent believe their employer should provide sleep rooms to give employees a boost when feeling tired.
Southampton came seventh in the top ten of napping hot spots, with Birmingham taking top spot and London coming in second.
Neal Spencer, commercial director, said: “With so many Southampton workers feeling that tiredness impacts negatively on their performance, napping facilities may provide businesses with a welcome boost in productivity and employee morale.”
