AN inquest heard how a man died of a drugs overdose.
Brian Rice died on April 25 after being admitted to Southampton General Hospital the day before with stab wounds, having taken an overdose.
The inquest at Southampton Coroner’s Court heard that just weeks before doctors had referred the 68-year-old who lived alone Banning Street, Romsey, to palliative care after he decided to stop his treatment for cancer and hepatitis C.
Assistant coroner Simon Burges recorded that Mr Rice had taken his own life.
