POLICE are hunting two women who racially abused another woman near a Hampshire park.

The victim, a black woman in her 30s from Southampton, was pushing a disabled woman in a wheelchair at the time.

As they left the park two white women, said to be aged in their 40s, prevented them from passing.

They then made racist comments to the victim, which caused her great alarm and distress.

The attack happened close to the entrance of a park on Bridgemary Avenue opposite Bedenham Primary School, in Gosport as the victim was heading in the direction of Gregson Avenue.

One of the suspects had a bicycle and the other woman was carrying two white plastic carrier bags.

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information on the identity of the suspects in the incident, which happened on June 28 between 11.30am and 11.50am, to come forward.

Call Gosport Police on 101 or information can be given anonymously on 0800 555 111.
