A MAJOR search for a missing man ended with the discovery of a body on rocks at the bottom of a cliff.
Coastguard and lifeboat teams were scrambled in the hunt for the man before the body was found at 8.45pm on Friday on the Isle of Wight.
A spokesman for Solent Coastguard told the Daily Echo that the alarm was raised just before 7pm and lifeboats from Bembridge and Sandown assisted with the search.
The body of the man was spotted at the bottom of Culver Cliff in Bembridge.
Hampshire police have not released any details concerning the discovery.
