POLICE deployed a helicopter to help search for suspects after intruders were seen at a Hampshire garden centre.

They were called to the report at the Fair Oak Garden Centre, in Winchester Road, Fair Oak, where three people had been spotted.

A 53-year-old man from West End was arrested at the scene.

Police used dog units, officers on the ground and the National Air Police Service helicopter to search for the other intruders for around an hour after the call came in just before 10.30pm on Sunday.

A 43-year-old man from West End and a 36-year-old man from Southampton were also arrested.

All three were quizzed on suspicion of attempted theft and going equipped to steal.

The 43-year-old and 53-year-old were bailed pending further inquiries and the 36-year-old was last night still helping police with their inquiries.
