Residents can have say on town's future development

Daily Echo: Residents can have say on town's future development Residents can have say on town's future development

RESIDENTS have another chance to have their say on how Alresford will develop over the next few years.

The town council has arranged a public meeting at Perins School on Friday, July 18.

The meeting will allow them to have their say on alternative development plans to the previously council-endorsed proposals for farmland off Sun Lane, with 300 homes, relocated industry from the Dean, Gypsy pitches, cemetery and access off the A31 town bypass.

A packed public meeting in May roundly criticised the plans and the council agreed to think again.

The new ideas would see development spread across the town.

An action group has been set up by residents in Nursery Road who are concerned that developing land off Sun Lane will mean much greater traffic.

An online petition against road access through Sun Lane and Tichborne Down via the proposed A31 junction has already garnered 143 signatures.
