MUSIC lovers preparing to party in the park when Let’s Rock! rolls into town this weekend are being urged to plan their journeys.

Southampton Common will be transported back to the 1980s on Saturday when the day-long festival takes place for the first time in the city.

More than 10,000 tickets have already been sold as fans get ready to dance the day away to music from artists including Billy Ocean, Bananarama, Howard Jones and ABC.

Hampshire bus company Xelabus has teamed up with Let’s Rock! organisers and will be running a bus shuttle service from Holyrood that will pick up in a number of places.

It will stop at West Quay in Portland Terrace, Central Station Southside, outside the front of the Civic Centre, close to the cenotaph on Above Bar Street and then straight on to the Common.

A limited number of parking spaces will also be available at Richard Taunton Sixth Form College in Hill Lane.
