Man leapt from high window in drugs raid

Daily Echo: Man leapt from high window in drugs raid Man leapt from high window in drugs raid

A MAN jumped from an upper floor window of his home, injuring his leg, as police raided his Southampton home.

The 32-year-old was last night being treated in Southampton General Hospital for a “serious leg injury” following the drugs bust at his home at The Dell.

A team from the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit and Hampshire’s Operation Fortress officers joined forces to execute the warrant on Monday.

It was during the raid, which happened at around midday, that the sole occupant of the property jumped from the window and seriously injured his leg.

Inside the property a large amount of drugs, believed to be class A, plus a quantity of cash was recovered.

Following the warrant, another man, also aged 32, was stopped in a vehicle close to The Dell by police and was found to be in possession of a large amount of money.

He was arrested on suspicion of money laundering and has been bailed until August 7.

Southampton Commander, Superintendent James Fulton, who is in charge of policing in the city, said: “We would like to thank the residents of Southampton for their support in relation to the warrant which is part of Operation Fortress – this activity being supported by the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit.

“I realise that carrying out such warrants can be upsetting for the local community, so I thank residents for their co-operation and patience. However, such operations are necessary to disrupt the supply of drugs and its associated violence in the Southampton area.”

Anyone with any information that might help with the operation should contact police on 101.

Perhaps next time they'd appreciate letters sent to them warning of the upcoming raids

Does anyone know what happened to this guy? His name is Attal Mihanpoor and since he got arrested everyone in the building is much happier. Would be good to know that he isn't likely to return in a hurry.
