IT’S one of those yarns you would never believe.
Sholing residents have transformed part of their community by covering the street in knitting.
And nothing is safe as trees, lamp posts, railings and even a bus stop has been covered in wool in the space between St Monica Primary School and St Mary’s Church.
The ‘yarn-bombing’ is part of a creative arts and crafts event hosted by the church today which ioncludes various interactive art installations.
Event organiser Tammy Oliver said: “I love seeing our community full of life, colour and joy.
" love the idea that through this one small act of knitting a fence post, I could brighten up someone’s day and hopefully even inspire them to get involved too.
"The dream is that we might all get creative and colourfully transform our communities together.”
Rev Greg Bakker, vicar at St Mary’s, added: “St Mary's is extremely excited about hosting this new event, which is a celebration of creativity and community.
"Our team has done a fantastic job drawing together the local community, St Monica's Primary School, and the church to showcase a wide variety of creative expression.”
