A TEAM of Hampshire medical staff from the Ministry of Defence have been pedalling for charity.

Nurses and healthcare assistants came to Southampton Airport with static bikes to see how far they could cycle in five hours.

The event was raising money for the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund, a welfare charity for members of the RAF.

Southampton passengers watched as the group cycled 377 miles, the equivalent of a flight from Southampton to Dublin, and donated more than £400 to the cause.

The team was made up of Navy, Army and Air Force personnel based at Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth.
