TOWN councillors have unanimously approved payments to update their computer system.
Cllr Roy Gentry, head of finance at Alresford Town Council, told the full meeting last week that £42 a month was needed to update the current Microsoft Office program.
He said: “We are still on Microsoft Office 2003, and have been since the new system was installed in 2006. It’s difficult to manage because the clerks cannot open documents they are sent.”
