First published in News

ALRESFORD Town Council has agreed to pay £5,000 to settle a claim for unfair dismissal which started over a year ago.

At a council meeting on Thursday, councillors heard that the case, which started in March last year, was settled before it went to a tribunal.

Although it says the council will make the payout it is really the taxpayer who pays the money in the first place.
If the tribunal ruled the dismissal was unfair can we now expect to see the person responsible for? Oh! Sorry. I forgot - it was the council, and as we all know there is no-one in the council that is ever responsible.
