DOZENS of children donned mortarboards and robes when they ‘graduated’ from one of Southampton’s highest seats of learning.
More than 60 four-year-old children from the University of Southampton’s Early Years Centre dressed the part when they graduated from the pre-school nursery.
The special ceremony saw the little students walk the boards at the Nuffield Theatre in front of their families to receive their scrolls of learning from the staff.
Each child received a certificate of graduation and a few words of commendation from the Highfield Campus staff before their move to primary school.
Afterwards all the children sang three songs in different languages reflecting the centre’s multicultural environment.
