Fire rips through bedroom in flat
FIREFIGHTERS tackled a blaze at a Southampton home tonight.
The fire took hold in a maisonette in Green Lane, Maybush, after starting in a bedroom shortly before 10pm.
A crew of 13 firefighters from St Mary’s and Hightown fire stations deployed six breathing apparatusand three water jets to battle the blaze.
Part of the road was sealed off near Windemere Avenue while they worked.
There were no casualties and no one needed to be rescued.
The blaze was contained to the room.
It is not yet know how the fire started.
The road opened within an hour.
